At a certain point, I stopped unpacking altogether.
The heavy boxes with highlighted big abbreviations "Diss." have stayed in the messy uncleaned room for several days, and I wonder if the books and all those photocopied, printed papers are missing me. I certainly don't miss them.
Perhaps this is simply a consequence of several days of pure labor in the heat wave.
Now the weather finally cools down. How long the procrastination will go on?

As someone who has completed the dissertation, I'd like to let you know that we have all experienced such a moment before. Here is a tip I'd like to share with you: when you are tired and want to take a break, go ahead and do so. Don't force yourself to work when you are low. But be sure to set up a deadline for each small project and let your advisor and committee know about each deadline. This way, it will help you push yourself forward with your dissertation and complete it in time.
Perfection is possible, but it seldom happens. So the best dissertation is a completed dissertation. After it is done, you will move on to the next stage of your life, which will be different and exciting in another way:). --- Rong
